Biography

Julie Sokolowski was just an ordinary 18-year-old girl working as an au pair when French director Bruno Dumont approached her to star in his film Hadewijch (2009). Even though she claimed she wasn’t interested in acting, Julie eventually agreed to play the role of Celine, a young religious fanatic who gets kicked out of a convent for being a little too devout. She had never been in a movie before, and she hasn’t been in a movie since. We wish we could tell you more, but what we can tell you is that in her one onscreen appearance, Julie bared suckers, seat beat, and sugar basin drying off after a shower. She should change her last name to Stroke-a-lot-ski!
